So many people think that it is there job to 'crusade against remakes' just because they like the originals better, it's not like the remakes are bad movies (most) but the more nostalgic people completely dismiss them because they may be different to or competition with the original.
Dawn 04 wasn't meant to be the original because it was a remake, a completely different, more up to date film, why can't people enjoy it that way? I did.
The LOTR films were not the books. If he'd re-made the LOTR series as much like the originals that would make you happy he would basically just have to re-print the books because LOTR was never originally on film.
King Kong, looks more awesome than the original ever was, I honestly don't care about the whole: 'well it was great at the time' because this is now and I just want good entertainment. After all that's all it is.
What I'm saying is that remakes/re-envisionings or book adaptations are NOT meant to/trying to be exactly like/the same as the originals.
By all means still favour the original over the remake but only after viewing the remake. Do not compare them to each other, watch them as two seperate movies. |
