not in my book.
The only 2 common denominators these two movies have are a name and a mall. Pretty much different movies in every other respect.
As for remakes in general: I have never been a fan of them unless they alter the storyline also. If I wanted revamped regurgitation, I would switch to hard liquor, instead of beer.
