In GAR's movies it was the Venus probe radiation with a possible virus mutation that caused unburied corpses to rise within a few minutes of death.
In DoD2k4, if they had done this, they would have needed to float us an explanation. After all, we the audience are pretty intelligent and can pretty much connect that a bite makes you a zombie when you die so it's probably a virus. We don't need to know, patient zero or who created the virus to enjoy the movie from where it begins.
But if they had done it as all the dead just started rising, well I'd want to know what was making them comeback like that. Then the directors would have to come up with some "Mars probe radiation" theory to get us to buy in. |
