I had always assumed that animals were unaffected and felt that this contributed to the mystery and intrigue of the zombie phenomenon.

I was disappointed when I read the rat scene in the LAND script since I realized that GAR didn't necessarily feel the same way.

I have similar reservations about the 'cat or dog' idea in LAND and what that implies. Its ever-so-slightly demystifying and moves the whole thing closer to science and further from the other...

I guess, at heart, I feel that John was speaking the truth in DAY OF THE DEAD.
