The one with the awesome wound on his face? He was so fucking awesome...still gives me nightmares.
Also, in over two hundred viewings of Dawn '78, the fact that the zombies were blue never struck me. It still doesn't strike me. Know why? Because Romero zombies are scary no matter how you make them look. Like that Hara Krishna zombie? He was one of the scariest zombies ever...to me, at least. The fact that their makeup was badly done, which still doesn't strike me, did not detract from the creepiness factor. Maybe it was because I first viewed this film at the tender age of six and was so frightened that I couldn't finish it for five years. Or perhaps the fact that the zombie actors were just so great and practically bled unnaturality. Either way, the Dawn zombies still stand in my mind as the scariest in the series, for reasons as of yet unknown. |
