Subject: I wanted to love Land........Date: Thu 3-Nov-2005, 19:30:28

...but instead I simply like it.
As I was watching it,... my reactions were like this....

(the scene with the zombies playing the trumbone and tamborene)
"what the hell? Is this some kind of joke?"

(we see the boyfriend/girlfriend zombies holding hands,.. and Big Daddy pumping gas)
"uuhh... these zombies are acting way too human to be the least bit creepy."

(Big Daddy tries to warn the other zombies to not watch the sky flowers and then acts sad as he watches the other zombies die again.)

"Oh just friggin' great!! Another Bub zombie with emotions and intelligence and crap. The zombies are portrayed as victims and.. Romero,.. what happened?

well,.. I don't have time to go through the entire film,... but as I watched it,.. I did enjoy it. I hated how the zombies were portrayed as innocent victims and "good guys" but as far as the actual main characters and gore and action,.. and ASIA ARGENTO.. mmm mmm... I did enjoy it.
It was a good action movie,... but it wasn't a great zombie movie compared to all the other Romero zombie flicks for the simple fact that the zombies were too human instead of dumb, mindless, bloodthirsty animals.
I have to give it a tie with Day of the Dead on my list. ( with Day,.. actually being creepy and slightly scary a notch higher.)

1. Dawn of the Dead 1978
2. Night of the Living Dead 1990
3. Day of the Dead----Land of the Dead

BUT... I've only seen it once. I'll watch it again and see if my reactions are any different.
