Yes, it is a good thing.

But 28 days later is not a zombie movie, and DOTD remake was kinda making things up as they went along, so not the best of reference material you are working with.

The eyes are the window of the soul, correct . . . but zombies have no soul, so their eyes are a dead give away.

My interpretation was always this : When something dies, within thirty minutes to one hour the soft tissue which makes up the eyes is the first thing to start breaking down, the pupils begin to cloud over and turn milky grey/white.

And that is usually when the virus kicks in and the corpse reanimates, usually within an hour or two of death . . . any longer and the reanimated corpse would have little to no eyesight remaining and would be pretty much useless.

So clouded over, or a whitening of the eyes would be anatomically correct and SHOULD be the order of the day.
