I really do like this movie.
The beginning is just outstanding but then it slows too much when they reach the mall.
What I like best about it is the brightness and colors.
The fact that it is bright and sunny out for many of the sequences was great.
Too often we get darkness (Land), to give us a forced sense of danger.
Not the case in Dawn04.
The green trees we saw in the distance off the mall roof made it "real" for me in some way.
The overhead scene of Anna driving on the highway makes me think of the movie often when I'm driving.
The familiar setting of the mall and the range of likable and unlikable characters was solid.
I think all these "realisms" made much more of an impact on me.

What we saw in Land could have been anywhere or anywhen.
It was Mad Max-like, and so I felt no connection to it.
I didn't feel for any of the characters.
Didn't care if any died or not.
It was more of an exercise to see *how* they died.
