After going into BB video to redeem my free used DVD coupons I asked why LOTD was not on shelves. I asked if it was because of the "No Late Fee Policy" and the manager answered no. It seems Universal and Atmosphere (the Manager said Makers of the film) want nearly 90% of all rental fees on this film returned to the studio for the first 6 weeks, and blockbuster would not agree in that contract for store distribution.
However, they agreed to a 60% return based on the # of online units rented.
So if you find LOTD at a blockbuster location chances are that it is a franchised store and not company owned. |
