I am of the belief that a movie watching experience at the theatre is entirely different from the one at home. How many people here have seen any of GAR's originals on the big screen? I know there are a few, (I saw day upon release) but not many.

We have grown so accustomed to seeing GAR's dead films on DVD or VHS at home, where we are able to stop it and rewind, pick out little flubs and such and really become a part of the films. Almost as if we establish a relationship with those films. I think you are unable to do that upon seeing a film, for the first time, at a jam packed theatre with teenagers yapping on their cell phones and other talking during the movie.

Movie going has become a major PITA as far as I am concerned. that is why I only go to the drive-in now.

Now that Land is out on DVD, we will be able to establish that realtionship with it that has been lacking due to the theatre experience.

I enjoyed Land in the theatre, but I have now seen it 3 time on DVD and it just seems to get better everytime.

Dawn, for example, is my favorite movie. I can watch Dawn and recite the dialog word for word (as many here can also do). Why, because I have seen the damn film a million times! But I do not grow tired of it because it is such a great film.

Ask yourself again in about 2 years, how many times have I watched Land on DVD, am I tired of it? Have I watched it enough to know the dialog?

I believe that it is the rare film that instantly grabs you and make you a lifelong fan. All others take time, as I beleive Land will.

Chris.....
