It has now been 2 weeks since I have been stuck in my home. The electricity flickers on and off, sometimes staying off for minutes, other times hours, and recently for a day. My food is running really low. I now resorted to skipping a meal every other day. Carefully looking out my window (I do not need those things to see me in here). I can see the number of zombies has greatly increased. They no longer seem too interested in the houses in my neighborhood. They just move along the streets as if they had somewhere to go.

Most of my neighbors risked going to one of the few provided shelters set up by the town. Those proved more dangerous then fighting it out on the streets. Food ran low in the shelters causing riots and most of the people ended up wiping out each other.

The military barely makes runs through my neighborhood now. I had a full view of the last jeep patrol that came by a few days ago. I also had a full view of that same patrol being overtaken by close to 100 of those things within a matter of minutes. Everyone has suffered in someway since this started. I do feel guilty watching friends biting the bullet on the streets from my limited view out of my window, but I have my own ass to worry about. This is not the time to play hero.

It has been a month since I have been inside my home. The electricity shut off during week three. My food has just run out and my body is weak due to malnutrition and improper sleep. In a clincher to wrap it all up in one nice package, the water has finally shut off today. I still check the sink to see if for some reason it will start up again. The radio stations are on emergency broadcast and have been that way for the past week. Hmm, it makes me wonder where the radio station is getting their power from considering it is not too far away; I'm sure some other areas are still functioning well. Probably using this local frequency to broadcast on. As it is I have to conserve the battery power in the radio, just in the smallest of chances a live broadcast of some kind comes on.

I do also realize that I now have to take a chance and risk it out there with the hordes of the "shufflers" as I like to call them, if I do not want to die of starvation inside this tomb. Considering it's dark out, I will wait till first light and take my chances. For some reason the streets are usually empty during the first hour of daylight. I haven't a clue as to where those things go during that time or why.

You know in thinking back about it, there never was an explanation as to why this happened. Calls came into the police when it first started and naturally the police shrugged it off as some joke, until a school was attacked. That brought statewide attention. It brought even more attention when the media was attacked live on the air while trying to make sense of what was happening at the school. From that point on everything went down hill. The public although shocked and stunned caught on quick to the situation. This all led to panic, frenzy, and riots and this caused civilization to crumble within a very short period of time.

Daylight is breaking and I'm about to make an attempt to find some food out there. The streets for the most part seem really clear of any zombies. A few seconds ago I heard an awfully loud boom, and now its getting very bright outside, I know damn well it's not a storm or the sun. Looks like I won't need food after all.
