Page 2 COLE And she was the evil one. CLINT
Josh, why are we here? JOSH He told me that when he got out he was going to come back here so he can dig her up. COLE Why? JOSH She's wearing a ring. A ring with a rock on it the size of a mouler. Worth at least ten grand, easy. Sadly Ash was killed in prison. His skull caved in after falling down a flight of stairs during a riot. CLINT So, I guess that makes it ours. JOSH I guess so.
CU: BLANKET OF TOOLS. Josh rolls it out exposing three shovels for the job ahead. MASTER SHOT: GRAVE. All three of them dig into the earth using the shovels. DISSOLVE:
CU: GRAVE. Pan up to Clint and Cole sweating in the desert heat as they work. MED SHOT: JOSH. He feeds the shovel one last time before noticing something in the grave. CU: GRAVE. A piece of dirty cloth can be seen peaking out of the ground. CU: JOSH.
JOSH Hey boys, I think we found something.
LONG SHOT: JOSH. He drops his tool kneeling into the grave. CU: DIRTY CLOTH. Josh removes the sheet to reveal what seems to be fingers. Pulling the stiff hand out of the grave it stays visable with a ring on its middle finger. MED SHOT: JOSH.
JOSH Easyist score we ever made.
MED SHOT: COLE.
COLE Well, get the fucking ring and let's get out of here.
LONG SHOT: GRAVE.
JOSH What's the matter, Cole? Don't like dead bodies. COLE That shit stinks, okay. Can we get out of here? JOSH Let me get the ring before you piss your pants.
CU: HAND. Josh pulls off the ring.
JOSH This son of a bitch has gotta be worth more than ten grand. Maybe twenty, twenty-five to the right buyer.
CU: HAND. The three graverobbers walk back to the car on the road. The fingers begin to move as if waving at them.
CLINT You guys wanna celebrate tonight? COLE Hell yeah, but not with you two assholes. I'm gonna get me a pizza with a side order of pussy.
FADE OUT.
ACT ONE: SCENE THREE
FADE IN: EXT: JOSH'S HOUSE - AFTERNOON. MASTER SHOT: HOUSE. CUT TO: INT: FRONT ROOM. MED SHOT: KEVIN. He examines the ring.
KEVIN Now that's what I call a rock. I'm guessing fifteen - twenty thousand.
LONG SHOT: FRONT ROOM. Kevin sits on the couch next to Josh as he holds the ring looking over it carefully as a jeweler would.
JOSH Can you find me a buyer? KEVIN I've got a few names I could hand over. JOSH Well, hand them over. KEVIN Wait a minute. I've got to make a few calls first. I'll come by tomorrow with the numbers of those who might be interested.
CU: RING. Kevin puts it on the coffee table. MED SHOT: JOSH.
JOSH Make it early, I wanna get this over with and done.
TWO SHOT:
KEVIN From what I hear you need the money. JOSH Nothing I can't handle.
He pours himself a drink from the bottle on the table.
KEVIN Motherfuckers with guns, right? Getting in your face about the money you owe them? Well, that's what you get for dealing with people like that. JOSH What are you talking about? We are people like that. I just got myself into a little situation that's all. [ Continue to page 3 ] |
