I agree with Cereval, Vivian probably knew where the spare key was hidden. After getting attacked by her folks or whoever, she runs and tries to get help from Anna -- she then gets zombified after using the key.
The only part about this that doesn't track is the speed with which Anna's husband turned. I remember someone involved with the film (maybe in the commentary) stating that the proximity of the bit to a major blood vessal governed the rate of zombification. Vivian clearly got chomped on the face -- plenty of blood supply there. She probably should have turned before she was able to enter the house.
Oh well. File this under plot hole.
