Subject: Zombie AnimalsDate: Thu 10-Nov-2005, 00:56:50

I posted this particular question on the Internet Movie Database and would like to post it here. When I was watching the Land of the Dead, DVD commentary, during the scene where the people in Fiddler's Green have all of those cages full of fake canaries, George makes a comment about Zombie animals.
He mentions that he has never touched on that subject, in previous films and he says "That is a subject that I might have to visit" He makes a statement about prior planning to shoot a scene with zombie rats, but the scene had to be scrapped for various reasons. Now, while I think (like alot of posters on the ImDb) that having zombie dogs would probably invite critics to make comparisons to Resident Evil and would probably be a subject that is best left alone, I was wondering, Do you think that George could create an atmosphere where zombie animals work, in a film? Or do you think it is a subject that he should probably ignore? I say, ignore. I love animals and would probably side with animal zombies quicker than I would, human zombies.(LOL)Let the zombie animals eat all the human zombies,HA! However, I did not like the idea of the zombies evolving and I thought that George Romero formulated that idea really well.He made it work in Land, perhaps he could create a believable atmosphere for zombie animals. What do some of you think?
