There were a number of salutes to Romero's "Dawn". There was the chopper in the beginning. Then on the TV, the preacher was Peter "black SWAT" and the General was Roger "white SWAT". In a sense, the elevator in the "new mall" may have been a plant as well. I had read that the creators tried to get David Emge 'Stephen' and Gaylen Ross 'Francine' to do cameos, too. All this and Savini's cameo!
I think all there would have been left to do is have the cast bow in unison at a poster for the '78 Dawn at the MAll's cineplex! |
