Cholo I don't think planned on returning to the city, I think he would then trot off to the nearest outpost (they do mention one in the story as I remember). But again linking to Cholo's fascination and dependancy on money, taking it out of the city where it 'means nothing' ... means nothing to him.

Another extension of how these remaining humans still base their existence on money.
