Subject: that makes perfectly good sense since | Date: Tue 25-Oct-2005, 19:35:46 | | ![](img/e.gif) | ![](img/e.gif) I have been in the theater for all of the Romero Zombie movies.
I was 13 and grew up watching the old Karloff, Lugosi, Chaney, etc, movies on late Friday and Saturday night TV movies. When Night of the Living Dead came out, it was so more realistic and believable than Godzilla or the Creature from the Black Lagoon. It had everything I had NEVER SEEN before, any of the kids my age or older.
I waited forever to see it again on TV and had to wait one hell of a long time. I had to wait an eternity for VHS to come down to an affordable price. VCR's came out at $500.00 and up when new and a VHS movie was like $27.00 give or take $5.00 Laster Disc were unthinkable $50.00 or $60.00 each. Pre-VHS and Laser Disc. when I was a kid was like a 16mm film with sound. You could have your own copy for starting around $250.00 and then you had to have a 16mm film projector with sound
You younger people are the luckiest people in the world. You get to own the movies for anywhere from $5.00 to $25.00 and a DVD player for a hundred buck or less.
But let me tell you another thing from my perspective; there is nothing like watching a movie when you are a kid, growing up, getting older and get to see the sequels, 10 then 20, 30 and so years on down the road and finally getting to own them for a fraction of the price you thought you would have to pay.
Now think how you feel about Land now, then wait until 20 years on down the road and see how special it will be to you It is SPECIAL to see it on the screen, because later on you may NEVER have the chance again, only on DVD or what ever new technology is used 20 years from now, but remember, GAR is alive, in the present and this is the time for you to meet and honor him; thank him for the gift he has given you, me and everyone who is open minded and free enough to escape reality for a brief moment and relish his vision of a different world. Then you may be able to appreciate the real world a little better.
That is the way I see it. Watching a Zombie movie really makes me appreciate that it is fiction, but keeps me mentally prepared incase it becomes fact
