It would get old with the same old running. It's the same old running among the zombies. With time, it would lose it's unique touch and just get old. The problem at first would be finding someone to pick it up. The bigger problem would be keeping that sympathetic network from removing it. This is why it hasn't happened yet. It's a farfetched idea with low odds of survival. I think Romero has decided to stick to the movies.
